Agency reporting reminder

A big thanks to everyone who has completed the reporting for broader outcomes priority three and the progressive procurement policy, due on 1 October 2023.

It’s good to see that so many agencies have provided their reports by the deadline, and we really appreciate the time you take to complete these requirements.

If your agency has not yet submitted the required reporting, please make it a priority.

We will follow up with agencies whose reporting we have not yet received in the coming days.

You can find more information on how to complete your reporting on our website:

Spotlight on reporting

Progressive procurement

Thanks to all the agencies who have submitted their reporting for October, including that for the progressive procurement policy. We appreciate your ongoing efforts to implement the policy and to report on the progress against the target.

There are tools available to agencies identify Māori businesses.

The Māori business validation tool matches a list of verified Māori businesses against an agency’s own list of Māori businesses. The tool helps agencies report on their relevant contracts and improve data quality for reporting against the target. Please contact us if you need help using the tool for your reporting.

The Māori business directory was recently launched by Te Puni Kōkiri for mandated agencies to help identify Māori businesses for procurement opportunities.

Results of the previous reporting round shows 4.6 per cent of contracts were awarded to Māori businesses. This is a decrease from 6.3 per cent in the previous six-month period. The decline was largely driven by a reported increase in the number of total contracts awarded by agencies in the period. That is, more contracts overall, with the number of contracts awarded to Māori businesses remaining relatively consistent with the previous round.
